On 12 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Ambassador of Thailand to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by Mrs. Fame Buddhavadhana, Counsellor, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Hisham Saad Aljadhey, Chief Executive Officer of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), at the SFDA Headquarters in Riyadh. H.E. Mr. Khaled Al Misfer, Assistant President for Executive Affairs and Executive Director of International Cooperation, and H.E. Mr. Ma'rouf Al-Thubaiti, Director of the Bilateral International Affairs Department, also attended the meeting.

On this occasion, both sides discussed Thailand–Saudi Arabia cooperation in areas under the mandate of the SFDA, including the regulation of food, medicines, cosmetics, medical devices, and health products, as well as ways to promote the export of Thai food and health product into the Saudi market.
