On 13 May 2026, H.E. Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Ambassador of Thailand to Saudi Arabia, together with H.E. Mr. Banpoth Ujjin, Consul General of Thailand in Jeddah, Mrs. Fame Buddhavadhana, Counsellor, and Mr. Prasart Sradaeng, Consul , paid a courtesy call on Eng. Abdulaziz Al-Rushodi, CEO of the Saudi Halal Center (SHC), an entity under the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), at the SHC headquarters in Riyadh.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on ways to enhance Thailand–Saudi Arabia cooperation in the Halal sector, including opportunities to develop partnerships in Halal products and services. The discussions also covered the promotion of Halal standards and mutual confidence in Halal systems, with a view to further strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two countries in the Halal industry.
