On 5 July 2026, H.E. Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Ambassador of Thailand to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by Mr. Kritawit Madhyamankura, Minister Counsellor (Investment), Mr. Teerasak Yuphech, Minister Counsellor (Labour), and officials from the Royal Thai Embassy , met with Mr. Tony Douglas, Chief Executive Officer of Riyadh Air, and the airline’s senior management to explore opportunities for strengthening cooperation between Thailand and the airline. Both sides also discussed the possibilities to recruit more qualified Thai professionals as well as encouraging Riyadh Air to consider Thailand as a regional hub for aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) services.
