On 14 September 2026, Mr. Natee Vichitsorasatra, Chargé d’Affaires a.i., together with the Thai delegation from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society led by Dr. Chaichana Mitrpant, Executive Director of the Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA), attended the Closed-Door Ministerial Roundtable held within the framework of the 4th UNESCO Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (GFEAI 2026) in Riyadh. The high-level session was co-organised by UNESCO and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, through the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) and the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE), bringing together ministers and dignitaries from 52 countries.

On this occasion, the Chargé d’Affaires delivered an intervention on behalf of Thailand, highlighting the urgency of bridging the global implementation gap in AI governance amid rapid technological advancements such as Agentic AI. Thailand proposed establishing a network of connected AI governance sandboxes from national use cases to global testing, and invited UNESCO to mobilise its AI Ethics Experts Without Borders (AIEB) network to assist Member States in testing governance baselines and translating shared evidence into practical policy tools, while respecting national contexts and policy sovereignty.
