The Royal Thai Embassy, Riyadh

Welcome to the website of the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh. The website will provide you with general information and news about the Kingdom of Thailand and her developments, relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as information and regulations on consular matters of the Royal Thai Government, and activities of the Embassy.

As a Mission representing a democratically elected government with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as Head of State to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh is fully committed to serve the highest interests of the country and the people, by conducting a proactive diplomacy in enhancing cooperation and expanding cordial relations between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in political, security, economic, social and cultural aspects; promoting people-to-people exchanges to enhance mutual understanding; and protecting the interests of, and look after Thais and Thai workers while promoting the role of Thai communities in preserving Thai identity and Thainess in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have a very long standing relationship, and the people of the Kingdom of Thailand with over 8 million Muslim population always uphold the holy land of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah in the highest esteem. As much as 10,000 Thai Muslims travel to perform Hajj at Makkah and Madinah cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia every year. The existing profound understanding between the peoples of the two Kingdoms has always been a basis for promoting meaningful and fruitful cooperation in all fields.

During the past years, economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has steadily increased. The volume of trade between the two Kingdoms has continuously increased to reach 5.4 billion US Dollars in 2007 and is expected to continue to expand to the fullest potentials in the near future. Cooperation in tourism, investment and academics have also been implemented on mutual benefits.

On behalf of the staff members of the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh, I pledge with our highest determination and utmost efforts to work towards the close and cordial relations between the Governments and the peoples of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the establishment of a true economic partnership for development and prosperity for the mutual benefits of the peoples of our two Kingdoms.
