On 7 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Lt. Banpoth Ujjin, Consul-General of Thailand to Jeddah accompanied Capt. Jakapong Arpimahatham, Acting Advisor for Integration and Development of the Southern Border Provinces, Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC), in a meeting with Mr. Imran Sadikhov, Director of Asian Affairs, alongside representatives from various departments of the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), at the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah. Both sides commended the current cooperation between Thailand and OIC which has been enhanced to various sectors such as education, youth, culture, the halal economy, and sustainable development . The Thai side also briefed about the policy of Thai Government regarding the Southern Border Provinces ' socio-economic development which was warmly welcomed by the OIC side.

Later on the same day, the Ambassador also met with H.E. Mr. Cenk Uraz, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the Türkiye' s Permanent Mission in Jeddah.
