Between 26–28 May 2026, the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh, in collaboration with the Saudi–Thai Business Council (STBC), led a delegation of more than 30 Saudi private-sector representatives on a visit to Thailand to participate in THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2026, one of Southeast Asia’s largest food and beverage trade exhibitions. The visit aimed to explore the potential of Thai food and beverage products in the Saudi Arabian market. On this occasion, the Embassy also worked closely with partner organizations to arrange a series of parallel activities for the delegation, as follows:
1. Thai–Saudi Business Forum and Business Matching Session (26 May 2026)
The Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh, in cooperation with the Thai Chamber of Commerce, co-hosted the Thai–Saudi Business Forum and a business matching session at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani. The event was jointly chaired by Dr. Visit Limlurcha, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and Mr. Osama Kokandi, Chairman of the Saudi–Thai Business Council (Saudi Side). The forum was attended by representatives from both the public and private sectors of Thailand and Saudi Arabia, including Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand; H.E. Mr. Abdulrahman Abdulaziz Alsuhaibani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Thailand; and Mr. Apichat Prasertsud, Director of the Thai Trade Center in Jeddah. More than 170 Thai companies participated in the event.
2. Study Visit to Thailand’s Premium Retail Sector (27 May 2026)
The delegation visited TOPS FOOD HALL at Central Park and Gourmet Market at Siam Paragon to learn about modern retail management practices, product selection processes, food quality assurance standards, and the potential of Thai products to meet the demands of the Saudi Arabian and broader Middle Eastern markets.
3. Visits to SCG International and the Marketing Organization for Farmers (28 May 2026)
The delegation visited SCG International Corporation Co., Ltd. to explore the export potential of Thai construction materials, food, and beverage products with strong prospects in the Saudi market.
The delegation subsequently attended a briefing at the headquarters of the Marketing Organization for Farmers (MOF) on the strengths of Thai agricultural products, production standards, and export opportunities to Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East.
The visit formed part of the Royal Thai Embassy in Riyadh’s ongoing efforts to advance Thai–Saudi economic diplomacy by fostering closer connections between the business communities of both countries. Through such initiatives, the Embassy seeks to strengthen business networks, facilitate new partnerships, and create tangible opportunities for trade and investment, ultimately supporting the expansion of Thai products and services in Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East.
