Procedures for entry into Thailand  

 

Thailand Pass platform - https://tp.consular.go.th - will still be closed for all new “Test and Go” and “Sandbox” applications, except Phuket Sandbox (available already) and Sandbox areas in Surat Thani (Samui Island, Tao Island and Pha-ngan Island), Krabi, and Phang-nga (will be available from 11 January 2022).

 

Travellers who have already received their Thailand Pass QR Code in the Test and Go scheme before 22 December 2021 can still enter Thailand with the exemption of quarantine on the date that they have registered, until further notice. They must undergo their 2nd COVID-19 test using the RT-PCR technique (not the ATK self-test) at government-designated facilities (no additional cost).

 

Options for Travellers from Saudi Arabia and Lebanon (all nationalities)

 

  1. Fully vaccinated travellers who have received the second dose of the vaccine against the COVID-19 at least 14 days before departure for Thailand

 

       1.1 Sandbox areas

 

       (1) Phuket Sandbox (direct flight from abroad to Phuket airport)

 

  •  Need to stay in a hotel of SHA Extra+ standard in the Phuket Sandbox for 7 nights

 

  • Travel restricted in the Sandbox areas for 7 days

 

  • Need to have a valid health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of USD 50,000.-

 

       - Getting a new policy can be done via https://covid19.tgia.org 

       - The validity of the policy must cover the whole period that the foreigner will stay in Thailand   

       - No travel insurance by any airlines is acceptable

 

 

       (2) Other Sandbox areas (from 11 January 2022)

 

Surat Thani (Samui Island, Tao Island and Pha-ngan Island) (direct flight from abroad to Samui airport or with a sealed-route transit from Bangkok airport to Samui airport)

 

Krabi (direct flight from abroad to Krabi airport or Phuket airport)

 

Phang-nga (direct flight from abroad to Phuket airport)

 

  • Need to stay in a hotel of SHA Extra+ standard in the Sandbox areas for 7 nights

 

  • Travel restricted in the Sandbox areas for 7 days

 

  • Need to have a valid health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of USD 50,000.-

 

       - Getting a new policy can be done via https://covid19.tgia.org 

       - The validity of the policy must cover the whole period that the foreigner will stay in Thailand  

       - No travel insurance by any airlines is acceptable

 

  • Need to take 2 PCR tests at the hotel (the cost of the tests is included in the hotel booking)

 

1.2 Alternative Quarantine in Bangkok or surrounding provinces

 

  • Need to stay in a hotel of Alternative Quarantine (AQ) package in Bangkok or surrounding provinces for 7 nights

 

  • Need to have a valid health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of USD 50,000.-

 

       - Getting a new policy can be done via https://covid19.tgia.org 

       - The validity of the policy must cover the whole period that the foreigner will stay in Thailand     

       - No travel insurance by any airlines is acceptable

 

  • Need to take 2 PCR tests at the hotel (the cost of the tests is included in the hotel booking)

 

       * If the travellers will stay at an AQ hotel in Phuket, the PCR tests shall be booked in advance separately via http://www.thailandpsas.com

 

  1. Other travellers (not fully vaccinated)

 

  • Need to stay in a hotel of Alternative Quarantine (AQ) package in Bangkok or surrounding provinces or Phuket for 10 nights

 

  • Need to have a valid health insurance policy with a minimum coverage of USD 50,000.-

 

       - Getting a new policy can be done via https://covid19.tgia.org 

       - The validity of the policy must cover the whole period that the foreigner will stay in Thailand     

       - No travel insurance by any airlines is acceptable

 

  • Need to take 2 PCR tests at the hotel (the cost of the tests is included in the hotel booking)

 

       * If the travellers will stay at a hotel in Phuket, the PCR tests shall be booked in advance separately via http://www.thailandpsas.com

 

All travellers to Thailand shall register for entry into Thailand, at least 7 days before departure for Thailand, via https://tp.consular.go.th which the travellers will receive a Thailand Pass QR code to use for entry into Thailand. In the case that the applicant has not received a response from the platform a week after a submission, the applicant may request the Embassy to check the application by sending an email to thaivisariyadh@gmail.com with a copy of their passport.

All foreigners need to take an RT-PCR test no more than 72 hours before departure for Thailand.

 

On the day of departure for Thailand, all foreigners should have the following documents in hard copy handy;

- Passport

- Thai visa affixed or re-entry permit stamped in the passport (if not the case of exemption of visa or Visa on Arrival)

- air ticket

- Thailand Pass QR code

- Health Insurance Policy Certificate

- SHA Extra+ or AQ Booking Certificate  

- Vaccination Certificate against the COVID-19

- RT-PCR Test Result Certificate

 

If not travelling with the Visa Exemption, or going to apply for a Visa on Arrival (VOA) in Thailand when eligible, foreigners must have a valid visa or re-entry permit before departure.
