Procedures for entry into Thailand for travellers from everywhere including Saudi Arabia and Lebanon (all nationalities)
All travellers need to get a Thailand Pass via https://tp.consular.go.th
From 1 May 2022, travellers entering Thailand by air are subject to new entry measures as follows;
- register for the Thailand Pass : attach required documents including passport, certificate of vaccination, and proof of insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
(COVID-19 test, both prior to and after arriving in Thailand, is no longer required)
(Option 1 - Exemption from quarantine)
Travellers with a negative RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before traveling must register for the Thailand Pass : attach required documents including passport, COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours before traveling and proof of insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
(COVID-19 test after arriving in Thailand is not required)
Travellers who have been approved to enter Thailand under AQ scheme but wish to enter Thailand under the exemption from quarantine must re-apply for the Thailand Pass.
(Option 2 - Quarantine)
Travellers who cannot undergo an RT-PCR test result within 72 hours before traveling or wish to be quarantined must register for the Thailand Pass : attach required documents including passport, Alternative Quarantine (AQ) hotel confirmation for 5 days (inclusive of 1 RT-PCR test), and proof of insurance with at least 10,000 USD coverage for medical treatments in Thailand (for non-Thais only)
- undergo an RT-PCR test on Day 4 - 5 in Thailand during the mandatory 5-day quarantine at AQ hotel
Travellers whose Thailand Pass has already been issued can travel with that Thailand Pass QR Code (no need to register for a new Thailand Pass).
Applicant can use the approved Thailand Pass QR Code to enter Thailand on different date of arrival if the new date of arrival is within 7 days before or after the original date of arrival as indicated on the QR Code (no need to re-apply or modify the application). Non-Thais are required to show proof of insurance for medical treatments in Thailand for the entire duration of their revised travel itinerary. Each Thailand Pass QR Code can be used only once.
Registration for the Thailand Pass is done solely on the Thailand Pass website - https://tp.consular.go.th and it is free of charge.
In the case that the applicant who will travel from Saudi Arabia or Lebanon has not received a response from the Thailand Pass platform 48 hours after the submission, the applicant may request the Embassy to check the application by sending an email to [email protected] with a copy of their passport.
On the day of departure for Thailand, all foreigners should have the following documents in hard copy handy;
- Thai visa affixed or re-entry permit stamped in the passport (if not the case of exemption of visa or Visa on Arrival)
- air ticket (a roundtrip ticket in case of a Visa on Arrival)
- Thailand Pass QR code
- Health Insurance Policy Certificate
- Vaccination Certificate against the COVID-19
If not travelling with the Visa Exemption, or going to apply for a Visa on Arrival in Thailand when eligible, foreigners must have a valid visa or re-entry permit before departure.
