On 3 August 2026, H.E. Mr. Pongprach Makchang, Ambassador of Thailand to Saudi Arabia, accompanied by Mr. Teerasak Yuphech, Minister Counsellor (Labour), and Mr. Muhammad-iffa Madthing, Second Secretary, paid a courtesy call on H.E. Eng. Ahmed M. Al Sharqi, Deputy Minister of Labor Affairs, Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral labor cooperation, focusing on expanding opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled Thai workers aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030. They also discussed the possibility to align national skill certification frameworks and ensuring robust protection of the rights and welfare of Thai labor in Saudi Arabia.
